The 2019 Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Cabernet Sauvignon is our first production from this famed vineyard. The vineyard, located on the Oakville/ Yountville line was originally part of a large piece of land owned by George C. Yount, from whom the town of Yountville takes its name. This land was later purchased by Charles Hopper and given to his daughter Missouri in 1877. The land was planted to wine grapes and as much of the Napa land was at that time, prunes and walnuts. In 1960, the land was purchased by Bruce Kelham as part of the historic Vine Hill Ranch, until its current owner, Beckstoffer.

  • TASTING NOTES

    The wine is a classical Oakville Cabernet, offering equal parts rusticity and elegance. The nose is dense and rich with earth, dark fruit and spice. The palate is lively with major energy while still young, certainly showing signs of its complexity which will only increase over time. If drinking young, this wine will require decanting. For peak, enjoy from 2025-2042.
